The Pokémon video games keep getting better and better which also translates to some of our favorite Pokémon evolving to be better as well.
Charizard’s evolution and learning ability show that it can turn one of its weaknesses into a strength it can use to defeat opponents in battle. 😎
It’s time to dive in and figure out if Charizard can use Electric moves in its wide arsenal.
Can Charizard Use Electric Moves?
There are different forms of Electric moves and Charizard can use one of them. The evolved form of Charizard, Mega Charizard X, can use Thunder Punch which is an Electric move. The Thunder Punch is an Electric-move ⚡ that can be used by Charizard with a 10% chance to paralyze its enemy.
Charizard is limited to certain movesets, but once it evolves into Mega Charizard X it is able to learn and use the Thunder Punch. This move is an electrified fist used by a Pokémon to render its opponent paralyzed using a single punch.
How Can Charizard Learn Electric Moves?
Thunder punch is a powerful Electric-type move that Mega Charizard X can learn through Technical Machine or Move Tutor. This is the one Electric-type move that Charizard can learn in its evolved form.
The Thunder punch, which is a base attack, can be learned by Mega Charizard X. For Charizard to learn this move, you need to evolve your Pokémon to its Mega form while also replacing the Charizard attacks with the evolution attack.
Thunder punch is an awesome Electric-type move that Charizard can use to knock out its opponent quickly. It also has a high accuracy rate which is definitely a good move for Charizard to learn.

When Should You Teach Charizard Electric Moves?
Charizard should learn Electric moves when going up against a Water-type Pokémon. Electric-type moves are best used by Fire-type Pokémon, which Charizard is, as a physical attacker to gain the most power over its opponent.
It is also best to teach Charizard Electric moves when going up against Flying-type Pokémon. If Charizard cannot get to its opponent while it is up in the air, it can use its Electric move to bring it down to its level.
Is Charizard Weak Against Electric?
Charizard is weak against Electric-type Pokémon. When going up against an Electric-type, Charizard is likely to incur a 1.25 damage increase.
Charizard is a Flying-Fire type Pokémon and it is widely known that Fire-type Pokémon have weaknesses when it comes to Electric-type Pokémon.
Electric-type can deal 160% damage to Charizard. Charizard in its original state is no match when it comes to going head-to-head against Electric-type Pokémon.
