I got into Pokémon Quest in the summer of 2019, but it took three months before my Pokémon evolved 🤔. Naturally, I was confused and sought help online, where I realized that I had unknowingly activated Everstone.
That face-slap moment inspired me to learn more about the game since I was new and didn’t know what I was doing.
Fast forward a few years, and I saw the same problem in community forums. It gave me the idea to share my two cents on how to evolve in Pokémon Quest.
How to evolve Pokémon in Pokémon quest?
Pokémon Quest follows similar rules to other Pokémon games. Your Pokémon will evolve once it reaches the required level and gains the necessary Experience Points.
To achieve this, you’ll need to capture a Pokémon. Pokémon Quest relies on recipes to attract and capture Pokémon.
Once you’ve caught one, take or send it to expeditions and battles. Here, your Pokémon will gain experience points and raise its HP. Alternatively, you can put it through “Level-Up Training.”
Once your Pokemon gains the necessary points, it will evolve. Each Pokémon evolves at different levels in this game.

However, an Everstone can stop evolutions at all stages. As such, ensure you disable it by visiting your Pokémon’s Stats page and turning it off.
What level does Charmander evolve in Pokémon Quest?
Charmander evolves at level 16 into Charmeleon and Charizard at level 36. You’ll need to capture Charmander using Mulligan Stew, Red Stew, or Hot Pot 🍲, which you’ll prepare using ingredients from quests.
You can also get these ingredients from recycling power stones and replaying stages with the right ingredients 🙂.
Once you’ve evolved your Charmander, teach it Fire Spin, Scratch, Dragon Claw, Ember, Fire Punch, Flamethrower, and Metal Claw.
Does Rhydon evolve in Pokémon Quest?
Rhydon is Rhyhorn’s final form in Pokemon Quest. It evolves at level 42 using 50 Candies. Rhydon is a horned, bipedal, melee, and Ground-type Pokemon.
It’s gray in color with a cream horn on its snout. It has a gray spike at the center of its head and fangs on its upper jaw.
Rhydon packs moves like Crunch, Roar, Stomp, Take-down, Megahorn, Earthquake, and Rock Smash.
Can you evolve Pokémon that have already passed their evolution level?
Yes. Most games let you evolve Pokemon that have already passed their evolution level. In fact, you can stop/pause evolution in some games.
In such instances, Pokemon will try evolving in subsequent levels. You can allow the evolution to continue or not.
How to evolve Pokémon that are past their evolve level?
This depends on the game. In Pokemon Quest, for instance, evolution occurs once the Pokemon reaches the prescribed level.
However, you can stop this process by making your Pokemon hold the Everstone. As such, you can assume that disabling the Everstone will allow your Pokemon to evolve.
On the other hand, Pokemon who haven’t evolved at their level do so in subsequent levels in HeartGold. However, if this doesn’t happen, participate in battles or use Rare Candy.
Battles and Rare Candy allow your Pokemon to level up, which triggers evolution.
