Starters with Hidden Abilities are a trainer’s delight. However, they aren’t easy to come by and sometimes require dubious means to get them.
Once, someone suggested using cheat codes to capture Starters with Hidden Abilities.
He swore by this method, but it didn’t work when I tried it 😔. Then, I got my hands on Brilliant Diamond Shining Pearl and learned a workaround to get Starters with Hidden Abilities.
So, let’s go over some options.
How do you get a Starter with Hidden Abilities?
Hidden Abilities are those rare abilities available to some Pokémon. They work in the same way as other abilities. Hidden Abilities debuted in the 5th Generation games.
Some games allow for Starters with Hidden Abilities 🤓. However, these are rare and depend on the game’s mechanics.
Here’s how to get Starters with Hidden Abilities.
- Kalos and Kanto Starters in Pokémon XY’s Friend Safaris come with their Hidden Abilities.
- You can get Sinnoh Starters with Hidden Abilities by transferring Pokémon from Brilliant Diamond Shining Pearl to Pokémon Home and claiming the Mystery Gift.
- You can get Galarian Starters with Hidden Abilities by transferring Pokémon from Sword and Shield to Pokémon Home and claiming the Mystery Gift.
- You can get Paldean Starters with Hidden Abilities by transferring Pokémon from Scarlet and Violet to Pokémon Home and claiming the Mystery Gift.
- You can get Rowlet, Cyndaquil, and Oshawott Starters with Hidden Abilities by transferring Pokémon from Legends: Arceus to Pokémon Home and claiming the Mystery Gift.
It’s worth noting, however, that most games allow you to breed Hidden Abilities into your Starter Pokémon at later stages of the game.
How do you breed a Starter Pokémon with Hidden Abilities?
Breeding Hidden Abilities requires that you have a compatible Pokémon with Hidden Abilities. It’s worth noting that there’s no surefire way to get a 100% chance of a Hidden Ability through breeding.
However, your pairing choices influence your chances of passing on these Abilities.
