I consider myself an early adopter when it comes to tech. So, signing up for Pokemon Home was a no-brainer. I had an impressive Pokemon collection but had trouble managing all of them.
Pokemon Home felt like an answered prayer until I tried transferring Pokemon from Home to Go.
At first, I thought something was wrong, but I later learned that Pokemon Home had its restrictions. So, four years later, this issue persists: can you send Pokemon Home to Go?
Let’s find out…
How do I transfer Pokémon from Home to Go?
Unfortunately, you cannot transfer Pokemon from Home to Pokemon Go 🙁. However, you can send Pokemon from Go to Home using the following steps.
Link your accounts.
You need to link your Home and Go accounts before transferring Pokemon. Here’s how:
- Open the Pokemon Go app and sign in.
- Tap the Poke Ball icon to access more options.
- Select “Settings” by tapping the gear icon in the top right corner.
- Select “Pokemon HOME” from the options.
- Click “Sign in.”
- Enter your Pokemon Home username and password.
Send your Pokemon
Once done, use your Go Transporter to move Pokemon from Go to Home. Here’s how.
- Select “Send Pokemon” from the Pokemon Home section.
- Hit “Continue” after checking the Go Transporter Energy level.
- Choose the Pokemon you want to transfer.
- Double-check the Pokemon and hit “Transport.”
Receive your Pokemon
Finally, you need to receive the Pokemon you’ve transferred. Here’s how:

- Check the list and click “Receive Pokemon” to finalize the process.
- You’ll get another prompt informing you that the transfer was successful.
