I recently participated in the Hisuian Typhlosion Tera Raid, and it was a blast. This event brought back memories of last year’s Charizard Tera Raid, still my favorite.
I remember teaming up with friends to capture the Unrivaled Charizard and enjoying every second.
So, I thought, why not bring you along memory lane as we explore how long Charizard Tera Raids lasted?
Do Charizard Tera Raids last all day?
Yes. Charizard Tera Raids last all day 😃. The last Charizard Raid was in 2022. It was split into two periods, each lasting three days.
The Charizard Tera Raid appeared in the 7-star black crystal Tera Raid battles. Players were able to team up and capture the Unrivaled Charizard. The periods for the last Charizard Tera Raid were:
- 1st December 2022 at 4 pm (PT) to 4th December 2022 at 4 pm (PT).
- 15th December 2022 at 4 pm (PT) to 18th December 2022 at 4 pm (PT).
How many times can you do Charizard Tera Raids?
You could participate in the Charizard Tera Raid multiple times. However, you could only capture the Unrivaled Charizard once.
Once you unlocked the raid, you had one chance each day of the tournament. However, you could join other raids via the Poke portal.
How hard is the Charizard Raid?
The Charizard Tera Raid was a difficult challenge for most players since the Unrivaled Charizard was a level 100 and sported a Dragon-Tera type 😃.
This Pokémon made quick work of unprepared opponents. Your Pokémon must be a level 100 to stand a chance against the Charizard.
The Charizard Raid’s difficulty was exacerbated by the requirements to reach the level. You had to unlock 6-star Raids, which was no small feat. Once you got through, you had to train and level up your Pokémon to Level 100.
How often does the Charizard Raid spawn?
The Charizard Raid spawned once every day. You would get one chance every day in your game to participate in the raid.
However, you could join other raids by accessing the in-game menu and opening the Poke Portal. Once you’re in, join ongoing Tera battles using a random or link code.
In both instances, you’ll need a Nintendo Switch Online Subscription.
What level in the game do you have to be to participate in the Charizard Raid?
As mentioned, the Charizard Tera Raid is a 7-star Raid challenge. You’ll need to unlock 6-star raids to access this challenge by beating all the gym leaders to complete the Academy Ace Tournament. Once done, win 15 5-star raids, and you’re in 🤝.
Completing different star raids improves your Pokémon stats. A good strategy for unlocking six-star raids is to use Azumarill, a fairy-type Pokémon that will help during the Charizard Raid.
Invest in its HP and Huge Power abilities, which are instrumental in beating Charizard.

How do you prepare for a Charizard Tera Raid?
As mentioned, you must unlock 6-star raids to access the Charizard Tera Raid. This is the first step to preparing for the raid.
Once you’re done, select a Fairy-type Pokémon that can withstand Charizard’s attacks.
The Unrivaled Charizard uses fire-type moves like Overheat, Fireblast, Hurricane, Tera Blast, Dragon Pulse, Sunny Day, and Inferno.
As such, a level 100 Fairy-type Pokémon like Azumarill is your best bet against Charizard. Other options include Sylveon, Dachsbun, and Grimmsnarl.
Finally, create or join a team and craft a strategy to help you weaken and capture the Charizard.
