With Pokémon Legends Arceus being one of my favorites in the game series, I have learned quite a bit about it. For one, discarding Pokémon is more common and honestly necessary in Arceus (compared to other versions) 🤷.
Naturally, I have had to let go of several Pokémon, and it’s fairly easy to do. In case you are fresh to the game and need guidance on getting rid of your Pokémon in Arceus, keep reading.
What To Do With Excess Pokémon In Arceus?
You can individually or mass release them. Getting rid of excess Pokémon is an essential part of Pokémon Legends Arceus because carrying out research in this game entails getting extra Pokémon that you really don’t need.
Unfortunately, this results in a lot of clutter in your pastures, which you do away with by releasing Pokémon (some trainers also call it swapping).
It helps create more room and storage space for the Pokémon you actually want in your team or party.
How Do You Put Pokémon Away In Arceus?
There are two ways you can get rid of excess Pokémon in Arceus. You can either put them away at camp or in the pastures.

Simply go to any camp and speak to the Galaxy Member (in a red robe) who sells Grit Items and heals Pokémon. The NPC will display all the Pokémon on your team. Freely scroll through them using the ‘L’ and ‘R’ buttons to pick. Once you have selected the one you want to put away, press the ‘A’ button and confirm its release by tapping ‘Yes.’ | This entails speaking to Marie, a female NPC, who is in charge of releasing extra caught Pokémon. She is located in the Jubilife Village within the pastures area. You can individually let go of excess Pokémon through Marie or mass release them once you have filled up 4 to 5 pastures with around 120 Pokémon. Also, some trainers believe you must have a history of individually releasing Pokémon in Arceus and have achieved Galaxy Grdae one. |
How To Mass Release Pokémon In Arceus
Mass releasing Pokémon in Arceus is a good idea because it helps you earn Grit Items like pebble, rock, dust, and gravel, which is impossible if you individually release them.
Multiple releasing is not, however, a readily available feature ☹️, it must be unlocked with the earlier mentioned prerequisites. Once you have the mass-release option, here is how to use it:
- In the game, head over to the Jibilife Village.
- Proceed to the pasture and speak to Marie. Your Pokémon will appear on the screen.
- Press the ‘Release Multiple’ or ‘X’ button.
- Select each Pokémon you wish to release.
- Press the ‘X’ button again.
- Confirm that you want to release them by clicking on ‘Yes.’
