Pokémon Types That Don’t Exist (Which Pokémon Combinations Don’t Exist?)
Collecting Pokémon 👾 is commonly hyped as the most fun part of the game, and as an avid player, I can say this is true.
Getting different Pokémon types in my stash is thrilling even though with each new release in the game franchise, my most anticipated Pokémon-type combinations are always missing.
There are about 9 unused Pokémon types. To find out more about Pokémon types and combinations that are yet to be included, keep reading.
How Many Pokémon Types Exist?
Currently, there are 18 types of Pokémon, which are categorized according to their elemental properties and moves.

Although the above Pokémon types are the most commonly known, a special one was introduced in Generation IX (Pokémon Scarlet & Violet) – Stellar.
Instead of having a fixed number of Pokémon in this type, all Pokémon can become Stellar and get power boosts to their moves.
What Is The Rarest Pokémon Type?
According to many Pokémon trainers, ice ❄️is the rarest Pokémon type because it has the smallest number of Pokémon – 58.
Ice-type Pokémon are also seen as the least popular in the game franchise since they do not feature much in early versions and have a steeper learning curve. This is because they need cold and snowy environments, which are not as common.
Additionally, many Pokémon players report that ice-type Pokémon are weak, especially against steel, fighting, rock, and fire types. They are ineffective in battle, making them flawed in many players’ eyes.
What Is The Most Unique Pokémon Type?
Ice-type Pokémon are the most unique because not only are they few, but also live in the most unique environments. There are only 58 ice-type Pokémon, and they thrive in cold habitats 🥶.
Most games only have one icy location, for example, Frost Cave in Kalos, Seafoam in Kanto, and Mount Lanakila in Alola. Such Pokémon, therefore, require more specialized training.
What Is The Best Type Combination That Doesn’t Exist Yet?
Normal and Steel-type is regarded as the best and strongest possible combination because it would put up a mighty defense and have up to 10 resistances.
It would be able to withstand up to four times the attack from fighting-type Pokémon and double the amount of damage a ground or fire-type Pokémon would give.
