Routes 🛣️ are walking trails that trainers and official partners can create in Pokémon Go for other players to follow.

They come in handy as they allow players to get rewards and bonuses like Stardust, badges, and XP just by completing them.

If that isn’t enough, you can also discover interesting gyms, Pokespots, and Pokémon using routes. Additionally, routes can be explored in Party Play mode, meaning multiple users can do it together.

Routes are classified into groups with corresponding badges, depending on the number of times you complete them.

Here’s more info on the different tiers:

Basic Tier

Routes completed once.

Bronze Tier

Routes completed five times.

Silver Tier

Routes completed twenty times

Gold Tier

Routes completed a hundred times.

However, it is important to know that since Routes is one of Pokémon Go’s most recent updates, your specific location or area may not have any available ones 😔.

How Long Does It Take For A Route To Be Approved Pokémon Go?

Routes are approved by Niantic Pokémon Go trainers and the process typically takes anywhere from one day and two months 😤.

It can be frustrating if your area doesn’t have any available routes to follow, but the initiative can start with you.

All you need to do is create one for your local Pokémon Go community. Simply map out the route of your favorite Pokémon with its start and end points using the application’s User Generated Content software.

Getting a route approved will then be straightforward unless it passes through restricted areas or is inaccurately shaped, in which case, it will be dismissed 👎.

But even if a route is approved, it can still be removed if it has a low route score.
