During last year’s community day, my friend was raising a lucky 3-star Charizard to a best buddy and was lucky to catch a Hundo Charizard.
He wondered if he should have given up the lucky Charizard and gone for the Hundo Charizard instead.
He asked me to explain to him what a hundo Charizard is, and how rare is it. In the past, I used to guess, and most of the time, I was wrong. But since I became a Charizard enthusiast, I helped him answer these questions.
How do you tell if a Pokémon is 100% IV before catching it?
😁Pokémon’s IVs are rated with a 0 to 3-star system by the team leader. A perfect Pokémon has 100% perfect IVS, a red stamp, and three stars.
Pokémon with an orange stamp and three stars as 80-99% perfect IVs. Pokémon with two stars has 66-80% perfect IVs, while the one with one star has 50-65% perfect IVs.
The one with 0 stars has less than 50% perfect IVs.
What is the 100% IV for Charizard?

IVs have color ranges from deep green for the highest value and deep red for the lowest value. The strength of a Pokémon is measured in IVs, which is the quality of a specific stat.

- Wild encounters Pokémon range from level 1 to 30. They have IVs ranging from 0 to 15.
- Wild Pokémon encountered from weather boosts have a 5-level boost. Their level ranges from 6 to 35. They are guaranteed a 4/4/4 IV floor.

How rare is a Hundo Charizard?
😤Pokémon Go players have proved how rare Hundo Charizard is. Rikkuaoi, a Reddit user, shared their statistics in screenshots. They found four perfect Pokémon out of 6,600+ catches.
From the comments, a player reported catching 33 hundos out of 46000 catches. Another player had 94 hundos out of 63000 catches.
😳Some players reported low statistics, such as 3 hundos out of 12,861 catches and 0 hundos out of 6235 catches. One player claimed he had a couple of 14/14/14 and 15/15/14 but had no hundo.
From the trainers’ reports, the odds of finding a hundo is around 1/1000+. It excludes the odds of finding a shundo, which is perfect stats Shiny Pokémon, or a nundo, which has 0 stats.
The odds of finding a hundo is 1 in 16 chance of each of the three stats, which are HP, Attack, and Defense.
How much is a Hundo Charizard worth?
PSA 10-graded Flashfire Charizard holos are priced at $1,700. In an auction by PWCC Auctions held in May 2022, it was sold at $1,650.
Ungraded versions have price ranges of $25 to $77. A PSA 9-graded Flashfire Charizard holos can be sold at $200. Shining Charizard is the most expensive and can go for over $1,000 for damaged versions.
