While doom-scrolling, I stumbled on a Reddit thread discussing the possibility of catching all five Titan Pokemon 😃. Intrigued, I read through and tried out some of the suggestions.
Unfortunately, they didn’t work, so I returned, seeking clarification; that’s when I noticed some participants hadn’t figured out how to beat the Earth Titan, Great Tusk.
They wondered if this Pokemon had any weaknesses they could exploit. While most responses were helpful, I noticed the advice offered was hard to follow.
This inspired me to compile a short guide on how to beat Earth Titans in Pokemon.
How to beat Earth Titan in Pokemon
The Earth Titan is one of the five Titan Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet that protect Herba Mystica. You’ll encounter it in the “Path of Legends” Storyline.
There are two versions of the Earth Titan, depending on the game: Great Tusk (Scarlet) and Iron Treads (Violet) 🤓.
Great Tusk is a Ground / Fighting type that’s weak against Water, Grass, Ice, Flying, Psychic, and Fairy Type. On the other hand, Iron Tread is a Ground / Steel type that’s weak against Fire, Water, Fighting, and Ground types.

Evidently, these Pokemon share some abilities. Therefore, you’ll need similar steps to beat them in a battle, so take notes…
Prepare for battle
This step involves selecting and preparing your Pokemon 🧐. As mentioned, Great Tusk is weak to Grass and Water types.
Therefore, your Starter Pokemon will serve you well. You could also go with Fairy, Flying, and Psychic types. Avoid Ice Types since they’re weak against Fighting moves.
In Violet, focus on Fire and Water types. Your Duck and Croc starters are good options. You can also use Fighting types like Hariyama and Ground types like Clodsire and Hippowdon.
Avoid using Electric, Rock, Poison, Steel, and Normal-type Pokemon since Ground Types are immune to Electric moves.
Find Earth Titan
Once you’ve selected and leveled up your Pokemon, find the Earth Titan. Both are in the desert west of Cascarrafa City. Their enormous sizes are a dead giveaway, so you won’t have trouble finding them.
Battle and defeat Earth Titan
When you find the Pokemon, approach and begin the battle. Exploit its weaknesses to reduce its health. The Earth Titan will try escaping when you defeat it in this first round. Pursue it and start round two.
Defeating Earth Titan will earn you Herba Mystica, which unlocks Glide, a Legendary Ride Technique.
What level do you have to be to beat Earth Titan Pokemon?
The Earth Titan is a formidable opponent and perhaps the most difficult of the five Titans. You’ll need a team of at least Level 40 to stand a chance against these Mammoth-like Pokemon.
To attain this, gain experience points through battles, boost your Friendship stats, and stock up XP candies.
