Swampert, Hariyama, Gardevoir, Absol, Crobat, and Manectric form the best Pokemon team for Omega Ruby. I remember being confused about this when I picked up Omega Ruby 😕.
I hadn’t played Pokemon in a while and didn’t know which Pokemon would work for gyms and the Elite Four battles.
Luckily, I stumbled on a Discord thread discussing this very issue. Several teams were listed, so I picked the Pokemon from each team to form my own.
Here’s why I think this team is the best for Omega Ruby.

Hariyama
Hariyama first appeared in the Generation 3 games. This Fighting-type Pokemon has impressive HP and attack stats. Unfortunately, you cannot say the same about its other stats. Luckily, Hariyama learns Close Combat, Brick Break, Knock Off, and Fake Out to cover its weaknesses in battle.

Gardevoir debuted in the third-generation games. This Psychic/Fairy type has impressive special attack and defense stats that are enhanced once it mega evolves. Gardevoir learns Moonblast, Focus Blast, Psychic, and Shadow Ball, making it formidable against Brawly, Drake, and Sydney. Gardevoir is also effective against Team Magma.
Absol
This Dark-type debuted in the Generation 3 games and mega-evolves in the Sixth Generation games and Pokemon Go.
Absol packs an impressive attack stat, which is boosted after mega evolution. It also learns moves like Night Slasg, Swords Dance, Psycho Cut, and Flamethrower, which make it effective against Tate, Liza, and Phoebe.
Crobat
This Poison/Flying type Pokemon debuted in the Generation 2 games and has an impressive speed stat, making it one of the game’s best fliers.
Fly is this Bat Pokemon’s main STAB. Others include Cross Poison, X-scissor, and Steel Wing.
Manectric
Manectric is an electric-type Pokemon that debuted in the Generation 3 games. It has a mega evolution available in Omega Ruby, Pokemon Go, and other Generation 6 games.
Manectric evolves from Electrike at level 26. It has impressive special attack and speed stats.
What is the most powerful Pokémon in Omega Ruby?
Rayquaza is the strongest Pokemon in Omega Ruby. This Dragon/ Flying-type Pokemon has a total base stat of 680 and 780 after mega evolution.
Its attack and Special attack stats are ridiculously high, and everything else is above average. You’ll find Rayquaza at the Sky Pillar, north of Route 131 🗺️.
What team do you fight in Omega Ruby?
You’ll face Team Magma in Omega Ruby. This team’s goal is to raise Groudon, evaporate the oceans, and expand the earth’s landmass to give more room for human civilization to expand. They’re led by Maxie, Tabitha, and Courtney.
You’ll also encounter Team Aqua. Their goal is to flood the land and wipe out humanity. It’s worth noting, however, that Team Magma is the main antagonist in Omega Ruby.
