When Niantic introduced the Go Battle League in Pokémon Go, I was excited to battle against my fellow trainers and show them who the real master is.
My excitement was dashed shortly afterwards when I realized I couldn’t play as many battles in a day as I wanted to😞.
Currently, the maximum number of battles you can play in Pokémon Go is 100 battles.
This will only be possible during the Timeless Travels: GO Battle Day event, which will begin on 10th of February 2024 at 12:00 a.m. to 11:59 p.m. local time.

How many times can you do battle league in Pokémon GO?
Normally, you can play Battle League up to 25 times in a day, whereby you’ll complete five sets of five matches each day.
However, during special events, like the Timeless Travels: Go Battle Day event, you can play Battle League up to 100 times in a day, as you’ll be able to complete 20 sets of five matches each day.
While this limit can be inconvenient when you want to battle away all day long, you can take advantage of it and battle as many times as you can to learn new skills and earn great rewards.
The more you participate in battles, the more you’ll earn rewards like Technical Machines and Stardust, and the better your Pokémon will be prepared for future battles.
How many battles does it take to get to Rank 20?
To progress from Rank 1 to Rank 20, you’ll need to complete up to 115 battles🔥. The table below shows the requirements needed to progress through different ranks:

How many battle league sets can you play in a day?
You can play a maximum of five Battle League sets in a day in the current Season 17 of the Go Battle League.
Each set contains five matches, allowing you to play up to 25 matches in a day. Note, however, that the maximum number of Battle League sets you can play in a day can increase during special events.
For example, you can complete up to 10 battle sets during the Go Battle Week: Timeless Travels event and up to 20 battle sets during the Timeless Travels: Go Battle Day event.
Why is there a limit on the number of battles you can do?
The most frustrating moment for many Pokémon Go players, myself included, is when we reach the daily limit on the Go Battle League. Like, why put a limit on it, right? 😒
While Niantic hasn’t officially provided an explanation as to why this limit exists, the Pokémon Go community is not short of its own theories.
Some suggest that the limit exists to prevent the servers from being overloaded, thanks to millions of daily eager Pokémon Go players, while others reckon that the limit is there to limit the amount of rewards given each day.
Others think the limit is there to lure players back to the game day after day, while others believe the limit is for our own good, as too much of something can be dangerous🙄.
