What Level Does Crocalor Evolve in Pokémon Scarlet? (How Do You Evolve Crocalor in Pokémon Scarlet?)
I got Fuecoco as my starter when I played Scarlet and Violet. I thought it was cute and couldn’t wait to level it up to a Skeledirge 😊. However, this didn’t happen. My Crocalor reached level 39 without evolving, and I got worried.
I scoured the internet for solutions, but none made sense. One day, I stumbled on a Discord chat discussing the same issue.
Some suggested it was a bug, while others thought it was something else. Eventually, someone recommended leveling up outside Auto Battles, and it worked.
That discussion inspired me to add my two cents on evolving Crocalor.
How do you evolve Crocalor Scarlet?
Crocalor is a Fire-type Pokémon that debuted in the Generation 9 games. It is the level 16 evolution of Fuecoco and evolves into Skeledirge in level 36.
To level up Crocalor, get it to level 36. Once you do, it automatically becomes Skeledirge, a Fire / Ghost Pokémon 🤓.
You can use EXP and Rare candies to speed up the level-up process.
How many evolutions does Crocalor have?
Crocalor has three evolutions. It starts as Fuecoco, then evolves into Crocalor before finally becoming Skeledirge. Fuecoco evolves at level 16 and Crocalor at level 36.

What does Crocalor evolve into in Scarlet and Violet?
Crocalor evolves into Skeledirge in Pokémon Scarlet and Violet 🧐. Skeledirge is a red Crocodile-like Pokémon covered in rectangular scales.
It has an angular belly that’s white and flanked by black stripes. Its head, neck, lower jaw, shoulder, back, legs, and arms sport a white pattern, with the one on its head resembling a lute.
Skeledirge’s arms and legs have three claws; it walks on fours.
You’ll notice a fiery bird on its head. This is a different entity. The bird is spherical; its face is yellow, and its eyes are white.
It has a short tail and crest and balances on one foot. Pokémon lore suggests the bird was born when Crocalor’s egg-shaped fireball gained a soul.
This process gave Skeledirge its ghost typing. Skeledirge relies on its singing to soothe opponents and make them lose their will to fight.
Why won’t my Crocalor evolve at level 36?
As mentioned, Crocalor evolves into Skeledirge at level 36. This process is automatic once you level up. However, sometimes this doesn’t happen.
The main culprit is Auto Battles.
The Auto Battling feature allows you to send your Pokémon to fight wild Pokémon. It helps you gain XP and earn rewards.
However, it has drawbacks.
One of them is that your Pokémon will not evolve in an Auto Battle. To mitigate this, evolve your Pokémon outside the Auto Battle.
