When Pokémon Origins aired in 2013, I was excited to see how it would transform the world of Pokémon. I was particularly excited to watch Red bond with Charizard and train it to become one of the best Charizards ever.
I know people choose Ash’s or Leon’s Charizard, but I think Red’s Charizard has some of the best moves of any Charizard💯.
It has mastered all moves known to Charizard and even learned others that aren’t of the fire/flying type.
Let’s dive deeper into those moves!
How Powerful is Red’s Charizard?
Red’s Charizard is a monster!!! 🔥 Yes, you heard me. It has the highest stats possible of any Charizard, at levels above 84.
It even achieved level 80 in Heart Gold and Soul Silver. Red’s Charizard also has maximum Energy Values (EVs).
In the show, Charizard took down Blue’s Blastoise using fire spin, mega punch, and fire blast . It was a hard match at first, but Charizard proved more powerful than I had expected.
In File 3, Charizard faces Nidoqueen in the initial battles and gets beaten easily.
However, in the final event, Red’s Charizard beats Giovanni’s Rhydon in a hard battle. It knocks out Rhydon with a seismic toss.
Ultimately, the best proof of Charizard’s power would be how it defeats Mewtwo in the final battle💪. Mewtwo decimates Red’s entire squad and throws off Charizard and its trainer.
However, Red uses a mega stone to mega-evolve Charizard, and using their powerful bond, Red and Charizard can defeat Mewtwo.
Can Red’s Charizard enter Battle Bond?
Battle bond is the hidden ability of Greninja, which allows it to transform Ash-Greninja. Every 700 years, one Greninja gets to enter Battle Bond, using luck and extensive training.
Red’s Charizard is a powerful Pokémon, but it still can’t enter Battle Bond. Maybe that will change in future versions or fanfic, but it can’t happen for now.
What is a good move set for Red’s Charizard in Pokémon?
Red’s Charizard is a fire/flying-type, which becomes a fire/dragon-type on mega evolution. The Charizard also has the advantage of learning other moves that aren’t regular for Charizard.
It can learn several moves, including seismic toss, mega punch, swift, and slash. Charizard uses seismic toss in the battle against Giovanni’s Rhydon.
It hits Rhydon with enough power to create a crater on the floor. Charizard’s mega punch is strong enough to create multiple shockwaves.
Flame thrower, fire spin, and fire blast are the best fire-type options. Seismic toss is a fighting-type move and possibly the best move Red’s Charizard has.
Mega punch, swift, and slash are normal-type moves.
In the most recent Pokémon Origins file, Red’s Charizard used ember, flamethrower, fire blast, fire spin, and seismic toss. That is the best move set there is.
Here is a table of all the moves Red’s Charizard has used😁.

What moves is Red’s Charizard weak against?
Red’s Charizard is a fire/flying-type Pokémon. It’s weak against rock, water, and electric-type moves. In battles, go for rock-types since they are double effective against Charizard.
Some good moves include rock slide, stone edge, and power gem.
When I played against Red’s Charizard, I used waterfall because it causes damage to fire types and tanks its other moves.
Tyranitar is great competition for Red’s Charizard, especially if you use Sand Stream. You can also invest in strong electric type Pokémon such as Ampharos.
