I’ll be honest. The first time I saw Eevee, I was underwhelmed. At the time, battling other Pokémon was all I wanted, and Eevee wasn’t my go-to.
However, delving deeper into the Pokeverse helped me appreciate Eevee’s role in the game. Recently, I decided to try my hand at breeding them.
All I had was a male Eevee that I tossed into a daycare with Ditto and hoped for the best. Needless to say, that first attempt opened up a new world of possibilities for me.
So, I thought, “Why not share what I’ve learned?”
Well, here goes…
Which Pokémon is compatible with Eevee?
Eevee is a Normal type Pokémon belonging to the Field Egg group. This land-based mammal has brown fur, a bushy tail, and a cream-colored collar and tail tip.
Eevees have an unstable genome that allows multiple evolutions, affectionately called Eeveelutions.
You can breed Eevee with any of these Eeveelutions. Here’s a list of the Eeveelutions compatible with this Pokémon 👇:
How to evolve
Level up Eevee to level 15, then use a Water Stone.
Level up Eevee to level 15, then use a Thunder Stone.
Level up Eevee to level 15, then use a Leaf Stone.
Level up Eevee to level 15, then use a Fire Stone.
Level up Eevee to level 15, then use an Ice Stone.
Play and feed Eevee to raise its friendship level. Once high enough, Eevee will evolve into Espeon during the day.
Play and feed Eevee to raise its friendship level. Once high enough, Eevee will evolve into Umbreon during the night.
Teach your Eevee a fairy-type move, play, and feed it to raise its friendship level. Once high enough, Eevee will evolve into Sylveon.
Alternatively, breed a female Eevee with a male one or with other members of the Field Egg group. Finally, breed a male Eevee with Ditto.
Should you breed a female Eevee to make Eevee?
Yes 😃. Breeding a female Eevee results in an Eevee. As mentioned, Eevee is compatible with other Eevees and Pokémon from the Field Egg group.
It’s worth noting that the offspring usually takes the female’s species. As such, using a female Eevee will result in an Eevee.
What egg group does Eevee belong to?
As mentioned, Eevee belongs to the Field Egg group. This group was previously called the Ground group. It contains many land-based mammals, some reptiles, and birds.
Popular mammals here include Infernape, Mamoswine, and Eevee. Ekans and Delibird represent the reptiles and birds.
The Field Egg group’s impressive selection makes it perfect for breeding multiple moves.
How to breed Eevee in Pokémon Go
Unfortunately, you cannot breed Eevee in Pokémon Go ☹️. So far, Niantic, Pokémon Go’s creators, haven’t introduced a breeding mechanic into their game.
Their reasons remain vague, leaving gamers to speculate that it has to do with maintaining balance in the game or protecting one of their income streams (selling incubators for hatching Pokémon eggs).
To get Eevee in Pokémon Go, catch it in the wild, trade it with other players, or hatch an egg.
Can you breed Flareon and Eevee?
Yes. As mentioned, Eevee is compatible with its Eeveelutions. Flareon results from using the Fire Stone on Eevee. It’s worth noting that the offspring here would be an Eevee.
Can Togetic breed with Eevee?
Yes, but indirectly 🧐. Breeding Togetic with Eevee helps when you want to pass on Wish to Eevee. Here’s how to do it:
- Train a male Togetic (Togepi) to gain Wish. You’ll achieve this at level 28.
- Breed the Togetic with a female Pikachu or Raichu to get a Pichu that knows Wish.
- Evolve the Pichu into a Pikachu and keep breeding it till you get a male Pikachu.
- Breed the male Pikachu with a female Umbreon to get an Eevee that knows Wish. You can evolve this Eevee into any of the available Eevolutions.
Can you breed Eevee and Vaporeon?
Yes. As mentioned, Eevee is compatible with its Eeveelutions. Vaporeon results from using the Water Stone on Eevee.
It’s worth noting that the offspring here would be an Eevee.
What Pokémon can breed with Eevee in Platinum?
Eevee in Pokémon Platinum is compatible with other members of the Field Egg group. You can also breed a female Eevee with its male counterpart or other Eeveelutions. Alternatively, breed a male Eevee with Ditto.
What Pokémon can breed with Eevee in Brick Bronze?
Eevee in Pokémon Brick and Bronze is compatible with members of the Field Egg group. You can also breed a male Eevee with Ditto or a female Eevee with its male counterpart.
Alternatively, breed a female with other Eeveelutions.
Which Pokémon can breed with Eevee in Sword and Shield?
Eevee in Pokémon Sword and Shield is compatible with those from the Field Egg group. You can also breed a male Eevee with Ditto or a female Eevee with other Eeveelutions.
Alternatively, a female with its male counterpart also produces Eevee.
