What Pokémon can Kyurem fuse with? (How does Kyurem fuse?)
I got introduced to Kyurem in the Pokémon black and white games. Afterwards, I became invested in its growth throughout the original Pokémon game and the capabilities it acquired in the sequels.
Kyurem sparked my interest after I observed that its lack of ability to gigantamax is replaced by its ability to fuse with other Pokémon.
I decided to delve 🧐 further into this topic in order to find out more about Kyurem’s fusion ability and some of the Pokémon it can fuse with.
How does Kyurem fusion work?
Kyurem fuses with two Pokémon to turn into two different forms. The first form is the black Kyurem, which is a result of a fusion between Kyurem and Zekrom.
The second one is the white form, which is a combination of Kyurem and Reshiram.
Once Kyurem fuses with either of these two Pokémon, it retains its held item and the poke ball. However, there are several changes that occur.
When you fuse Kyurem with Reshiram, the white Kyurem attains Reshiram’s fusion flare and turboblaze. For the black Kyurem, it attains Zekrom’s fusion bolt and teravolt ⚡.
During fusion, the stats, nature, and level of the white and black Kyurem are all based on Kyurem. This means that once the fusion occurs, the Zekrom or Reshiram disappears, and all you are left with is Kyurem in a different form.
A good 👍 example is when you fuse a shiny Zekrom or Reshiram with a Kyurem. In spite of the shiny nature of the Zekrom or Reshiram, the result of the black or white Kyurem isn’t going to change.
How to fuse Kyurem
To fuse Kyurem with either Zekrom or Reshiram, you must have the DNA splicer item. This item will allow you to fuse Kyurem and attain either a black Kyurem or a white one.
Before attaining the DNA splicers, you must ensure that the Pokémon are in your party.
You can only fuse Kyurem with one 👆 Pokémon at a time. This means that for every DNA splicer, you can either fuse Kyurem with Reshiram or Kyurem with Zekrom.
To do this, you can use the gene wedge on Kyurem and then on your preferred Pokémon. This will make you lose either Zekrom or Reshiram from the party until the fusion process is complete.
Afterwards, you’ll have the white Kyurem or the black Kyurem.
Is there a point to fusing Kyurem and Zekrom?
Since Kyurem is a dragon-type Pokémon, fusing it with Zekrom makes it even more powerful. If you want a strong Pokémon, then fusing the two is a good idea.
The Black Kyurem gains Zekrom’s teravolt and fusion bolt leading to an increase in the overall stats.
Some of these base stats include:

How do you get a DNA splicer in Pokémon to fuse Kyurem?
To get the DNA splicer in the Pokémon games, you have to go to the bargain shop known as stow-on-side.
Afterwards, check your key item list to use the DNA splicer. This item not only fuses Kyurem to Zekrom or Reshiram, it can also reverse the fusion.
