One of the trainers that stand out for me in the Pokémon series is Red. I have always admired him for being brave and liked how he managed to defeat all of the Kanto Gym leaders.

I consider Red as one of the most powerful trainers in the series since he managed to catch numerous Pokémon.

Red has a total of 150 Pokémon in his collection. Some of his Pokémon were featured in Generation 1, while some of them were caught offscreen.

Red managed to catch some of his Pokémon during his journey. Though he often rotates between his Pokémon, the only fixed Pokémon in his team is Charizard.

As Red continues to complete the Pokédex, he manages to capture the legendary birds Moltres, Articuno, and Zapdos.

Articuno, the legendary Pokémon, is in the Seafoam Islands, while Zapdos can be found in the Power Plant. On the other hand, Moltres is seen on Mt Ember on.

😩After Red captures all the 149 Pokémon, he discovers that Blue is seriously injured by a Pokémon known as Mewtwo. He is determined to capture it in Cerulean Cave.

Though Mewto is quite powerful, Red manages to capture it. You can obtain one of these legendary Pokémon depending on which partner Pokémon you pick at the beginning.

Pokémon fans have different views regarding Red’s true starter Pokémon. Some imply that it is Charmander, while others speculate that it is Bulbasaur.

However, most people believe that Red’s starter Pokémon was Poli, a Poliwag that he owned when he was a young boy.

🏊‍♂️Based on this suggestion, it is believed that Poli was unable to save Red from drowning on one occasion when he was swimming.

Due to the Pokémon’s inability to help Red, Poli evolved into Poliwhirl and saved Red.

Who is Red’s signature Pokémon?


Pikachu is Red’s signature Pokémon since it is a staple of almost every incarnation of Red’s Team. 💪Every time that Pikachu is present, it is depicted as the strongest.

Some of Pikachu’s known moves include Light Screen, Nuzzle, Thunderbolt, Quick Attack, Iron Tail, and Volt Attack.

Everywhere Red travels, Pikachu stays by his side. Red managed to catch Pikachu using his Charmander.
