Pokémon creators have made it a point to always go out of their way to ensure each franchise has unique creatures 😊 ⭐.
Thinking about it, I feel like the Pokémon I have enjoyed the most to date are those introduced from Generation V. These Pokémon are perhaps the most unique and relatable.
What I love most about them is their design, which seem to be in perfect sync with each other. Of these, I have several which have fancied my interest.
However, I think the Oshawott 🐢is my favorite of them all for various reasons.
Read along to find out some of the best features of this bluish-gray fury Pokémon with an aesthetically pleasing shell on its belly.
What is Oshawott based on?
The Oshawoot is a light-blue 💙 Pokémon with a circular white head and small, triangular, dark-blue eyes. The Pokémon has freckles on its cheeks that grow into four whiskers.
It has sharp-pointed teeth, white arms, and three toes on each foot.
Lastly, the Oshawoot has a yellow shell 🐚on its belly – the ‘scalchop’ made from the same material as its claws.
From its appearance, it’s easy to know the Pokémon is based on the sea otter.
What level does Oshawott evolve?
The Oshawoot is a Generation V water-type 🌊Pokémon of Pokémon Legend: Arceus and is a starter Pokémon.
Its first evolution happens in level 17 when it evolves into a Dewoot. Dewoot is a light-blue otter-like Pokémon with small ears, four whiskers, and a platypus-like tail.
🐉The next evolution happens at level 36, where it evolves into a Samurott. Samurott is a quadrupedal Pokémon with an irregular and jagged shell on its head.
What is the final form of Oshawott?
The final form of Oshawott is the Hisuian Samurott – it is the final evolution occurring at level 36.
The Hisuian Samurott is a water and dark type Pokémon strong against fire 🔥, ice 🧊, steel, ghost 👻, water, and dark attacks and immune to psychics. Its weakness, therefore, becomes bugs 🦗, fairy, grass 🌿, fighting-type, and electric ⚡.
While in its final form, one can mega evolve the Pokémon to get a more powerful Pokémon known as Mega Samurott. The only downside is that Mega Evolution is short-lived. Hence, you cannot fully count on it in this state.
Why does Oshawott have a shell?
Oshawott has a shell on it to represent the food it eats 😋 🦐. The shell also comes in as a weapon during battles.
You will notice that the placement of the shell differs with each evolution. In its initial form, the Oshawott, the shell is located on its belly. In its second evolution, the Dewott, it has two shells on the side of each leg. In its final form, the Samurott, the shell can be seen on each side of its four legs and its head.
Is Oshawott a special attacker?
Yes. The Oshawoot is a special attacker. Its special attack moves are the Hydro Pump, and the Water Pulse moves.
In Hydro Pump 🌊, the Oshawott attacks by splashing a huge volume of water under great pressure on its opponent. The Hydro Pump move has a base power of 110 💪with an 80% accuracy on its opponent.
The Water Pulse move involves the Oshawott pulsing a blast of water in ultrasonic waves to confuse its attacker. The water pulse move has a base power of 60 with 100% accuracy against the attacker. 🌊 🌟

What is the hidden ability of Oshawott?
Oshawott hidden ability is its 🐚 🛡️Shell Amor. It comes in handy during battle to prevent the Pokémon from receiving any critical hit from its opponents. It works by negating any critical hit directed towards Oshawott.
Shell Amor’s hidden ability is useful when the Oshawott is in battle and facing an opponent heavily relying on critical hits.
