When I first went against Snorlax in battle, I thought it would be a piece of cake to easily defeat it and add more trophies to my belt. After all, it was adorably asleep and unaware of my quiet, yet deadly, advances.
Little did I know! After having my head handed back to me (a couple of times), I delved into the web and did an extensive research on Snorlax’s weaknesses and how I could effectively and efficiently defeat it in battle.
The findings were truly eye-opening. In this article, I’ll share with you what Pokémon Type can beat Snorlax, and the most effective movesets against it.
How to Beat Snorlax in Pokemon Go
😴Snorlax is a bulky, Normal-type Pokémon who sleeps nearly all the time, even during a fight! But before you assume how super easy it would be to beat this big guy in Pokémon Go, you should know that sleep is actually his main source of strength, and he inflicts the most damage when dreaming. ☠️
So, how can you beat Snorlax in Pokémon Go?
- 😈First, the best way to beat Snorlax in Pokémon Go is by exploiting its Type weakness. As a Normal-type Pokémon, it is vulnerable against Fighting-type attacks, which can deal super effective damage of up to 25%.
- 🔥Second, you should choose the Pokémon with an equal or higher Combat Power (CP) advantage than that of the Snorlax you’re battling. It should also be able to deal additional damage while taking reduced damage from Snorlax.
- Third, try to use Pokémon and moves of the same type to deal additional damage. This will offer you Same Type Attack Bonus (STAB) of up to 25% against Snorlax, increasing your chances of beating it.
- Fourth, use movesets that deal high damage per second to ensure you inflict maximum damage during battle.

What are Snorlax weaknesses in Pokemon Go?
Snorlax’s primary weakness in Pokémon Go is Fighting-type attacks. Therefore, ensure at least one of your fighters is proficient with Fighting-type moves before taking on a Snorlax.
Also, the higher the Pokémon’s stats and CP, the more damage it can deal to a Snorlax. 💣
In addition to Fighting-type Pokémon and moves, you’ll also need to stock up on essential items like healing and revival potions to ensure your Pokémon stay in top form.
These include Max Potions, Max Revives, and ordinary Revives.
Does Snorlax have any resistances in Pokémon Go?
No. As a Normal-type Pokémon , Snorlax is not resistant to any Pokémon type or attack. You should note, however, that it is immune to Ghost-type moves.
Also, its Thick Fat ability reduces the amount of damage dealt by Fire and Ice-type moves by half.
Therefore, Fighting-type moves are the safest bet when taking on a Snorlax.
