I first used Flash in Pokemon Crystal. Granted, it wasn’t as cool as Flare Blitz, Bodyslam, or Earthquake, but it worked for navigating dark caves.
Decades later, I rediscovered it in HeartGold and Brilliant Diamond Shining Pearl. Although I got it purely for the nostalgia, I was glad they improved its accuracy😊.
I used it in some battles and thought it was decent enough to cover.

Can you teach Flash to any Pokemon?
Not really. Some Pokemon cannot learn Flash. However, this Normal type move is available to many Pokemon across the generations. Flash is a non-damaging move introduced in the first generation of Pokemon games.
In battle, the user emits a blinding light that reduces its opponent’s accuracy. Outside the battlefield, Flash is used to illuminate dark caves.

How to teach Flash to Pokemon
You can teach Flash to Pokemon using TM70 and HM05. Alternatively, some Pokemon learn this move once they level up 🤓.
Level-up
As mentioned, some Pokemon learn Flash when they level up. They include Kadabra, Morelull, Shiinotic, Volbeat, and Alakazam.
Once these Pokemon gain the required Experience points, they level up and acquire Flash.
TM70
You can use TM70 to teach Pokemon Flash in Generations 4 to 6 and Pokemon Brilliant Diamond and Shining Pearl 🧐.
Its location varies from one game to another. Once you get TM70, go to your menu and select a compatible Pokemon.
Choose TM70 and confirm that you want to use it to teach your Pokemon Flash. You could only use it once in Generation 4, but this rule was changed in subsequent Generations.
HM05
You can use HM05 to teach Flash to your Pokemon in the first three Generations. Its location varies from one game to another. Once you get HM05, go to your menu and select a compatible Pokemon.
Choose HM05 and confirm that you want to use it to teach Flash to your Pokemon.

Bulbasaur, Ivysaur, Venusaur, Butterfree, Pikachu, and Raichu are some Pokemon that can learn Flash in Ruby. You’ll need HM05 to teach this move.
