The process of connecting Pokémon Go to Switch can be very daunting 😓 due to connectivity problems. These issues have been a pain point for a long time and they have never been addressed once and for all to give players a smooth time.
From my experience, there could be several reasons why Pokémon Go cannot connect to Nintendo Switch. Some of the possible causes could be;
- You could require a system and software update. 🔄
- Bluetooth connectivity. 📶
- A bug on your device. 🐞
- The servers might be down. 🌐
- The device is incompatible with the game. 🚫
How to fix these issues
Compatibility Issue
First and foremost, make sure the device you are using is compatible with the game. If not, use another device to connect to Pokémon Go. 👾
System and Software update
Ascertain your device is compatible with the game. Make sure the device system is up-to-date. See that you have the latest software update of the same. 📲
A bug on your device
To eliminate this possibility, I recommend you restart your device. Press and hold down the power button for about 2 seconds. Then select ‘Restart.’ Wait for your device to restart. Try again to connect to Pokémon Go. 🔄
Bluetooth Connectivity
Ensure the Bluetooth setting on your device is on. Go to ‘Settings’. Under ‘Connectivity’ click on ‘Bluetooth’. Toggle on the button. While at it, unpair any other Bluetooth device connected to the device.
These are the most common issues that could cause Pokémon Go not to connect to your Nintendo Switch. If you try all these fixes and it still does not connect, it could mean a problem with the main servers. All you can do is wait for the issue to be resolved and try again. ⌛

How to connect Nintendo Switch to Pokémon Scarlet and Violet
To begin this process, make sure you have the latest Pokémon Scarlet and Violet update.
Connect via Bluetooth
- Press the X button in the Pokémon Scarlet and Violet game. 🎮
- From the menu, select the ‘Poke Portal’ option. Tap on ‘Mystery Gift.’ 🎁
- Next, click on the ‘Connect to Pokémon GO’ option
- Select ‘Pair with a Pokémon GO account.’
- A pop-up query of ‘Would you like to pair with this account?’ will appear. Tap ‘Yes.’ ✔️
