The Pokémon TCG has been one of my fun ways to pass the time since I was a kid. One of my favorite parts has been building up my deck in order to boost my winning chances.
My friend got interested in the game, and as a beginner, he struggled to structure his Charizard deck.
Since I have been a Charizard enthusiast for years, I came up with several strategies that could help build him a Charizard deck.
Now, let’s build.😏
How to structure a Pokémon deck
There are basically some rules to adhere to when structuring a Pokémon deck. The first rule is to make a deck with a total of 60 cards, and secondly, you cannot use up to four cards from your deck that have similar names.
Follow these steps to structure your Charizard deck 🫣
- A deck comprises Pokémon, Trainer cards, and energy cards, and you need a combination of all these three in order to build a winning deck. Ensure that you use a balance of the three cards.
- Pick your Pokémon type by considering its strengths 💪 weaknesses, its ability, and attacks. However, you need some inspiration for which deck to build, especially if you are building your first deck, then pick something that inspires you, such as your favorite Pokémon. Here, you can pick a fire-type Pokémon, which is Charizard.
- Choose the type of Energy cards needed in your Pokémon lineup. Choose at least fifteen energy cards to enable you to power your Pokémon attacks. In addition, add Special Energy cards to get more damage.
- Select Trainer cards to boost the consistency and versatility of your deck. These trainer cards include Supporter cards, Item cards, and Stadium cards.
- Carry out the Testing and Refinement of your deck and monitor its consistency between the cards. You can add or remove cards to boost your deck performance.
