What Order to do Pokémon Violet (What Should you do First in Pokémon Go?)

Pokémon Scarlet and Violet is the first open-world game in the Pokémon series, which promises that players can go anywhere within the map and do anything.

So, I play the game for the first time, and what do I get? 😭💔Frustrations! Turns out you can’t just “go anywhere” without getting knocked out by one of the Titans or gym leaders.

Luckily, there’s a certain order to play the game and enjoy it without losing every time.

If you’re looking for a great order to play Pokémon Scarlet and Violet, you came to the right place!

Which Gym should you Battle first in Pokémon Violet?

As in all Pokémon games, you need to pick your first gym battle based on the level of the gym leaders and your monsters.

🔥Hands down, the best gym to start with is the Cortondo gym. It is a bug-type gym led by Katy. You’ll find it in the South end of Cortondo city, West of Mesogoza.

You need a team of ten or more to beat this gym leader easily. As with all other gyms, players complete a gym test before starting the battle.

Katy has three Pokémon: Teddiursa, Tarountula, and Nymble. Teddiursa is a level 15 normal-type Pokémon that has a bug-type TerraForm.

Tarountula and Nymble are both level 14 bug-types. To beat this squad, use Pokémon, which is super effective against bug types. You’ll earn your first gym badge and get the pounce move.

What is the Best Path for Players to take in Pokémon Violet?

The best path to take is Victory Road. Pokémon Scarlet and Violet offers three path options: Victory Road, Path of Legends, and Starfall Street.

Players don’t have to stick to one path – you can switch among all three!

Victory Road is the best path because most Pokémon players are already familiar with it. Odds are you have already encountered most of the Pokémon in previous games.

You can beat them easily and earn badges that you’ll use to control higher-level Pokémon later.

What is the best Starter to Pick in Pokémon Violet?

Via Tenor

The best starter to pick is the fire-type crocodile Fuecoco. All three starters are great Pokémon, and their final evolutions come with amazing boosts.

You can choose the fire-type Fuecoco, water-type Quaxly, or grass-type Sprigatito. The best thing about their typing is that each type is strong against one starter and weak against the other.

Nice one, Nintendo! 👌

Fuecoco is the best starter because fire types are harder to find later in the game than the other two. It’s easier to beat the first two gyms – bug and grass – since fire types are effective against both.

In addition, Fuecoco’s final evolution, Skeledirge, is a fire/ghost-type immune to normal-type attacks.

What happens if you mess up your Pokémon Violet order?

If you mess up your Order, you fight high-level Pokémon ahead of time, so you walk through the rest. The result? You don’t enjoy the game as much!

The game allows you to go anywhere, so you can play it in whichever way you choose. However, there’s an order that allows you to get the most out of the gaming experience.

If you don’t follow the Order, there are certain elements of the game you won’t enjoy. For example, gym battles ensure that Pokémon caught or traded above a certain level will obey you during battles.

Miss out on this, and you end up with a bunch of powerful monsters that don’t listen to their trainer!

Additionally, Team Star Bases must be defeated to access certain parts of the map. Unless you have a hidden route, you’ll go in circles trying to reach some parts of the Paldea Region.

Here’s a table on the recommended Order.

Do you have to play Pokémon Violet in a specific order?

No. Once you enter the Paldea Region, pick a Pokémon starter after the announcement, then head to the academy for your first lesson.

Afterwards, you join the treasure hunt. At this point, you choose from the three paths – Starfall Street, Victory Road, and Path of Legends – to set yourself up for the rest of the story.

There’s no specific way of going about the rest of the game beyond this point, though there’s an order that allows you to get the best experience.

Due to the lack of level scaling in the game, you might lose too many battles if you don’t have an order to follow.
